Professor Zhao Laijun attended the 19th China Rock Mechanics and Engineering Academic Grand Meeting in China Rock 2022 from November 3 to 6, 2022. He was invited to gave a keynote speech at the 17th forum.
As carbon peaking and carbon neutralization have become China's national development strategy, the pace of building China into a great country of power source has been further accelerated. Facing the demands of national strategy, the China Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering held the 19th China Annual Academic Conference on Rock Mechanics and Engineering to promote high-level academic exchanges in energy science and rock mechanics domestically and abroad. The conference was hosted and organized by several international organizations, such as the International Association for Geological Hazards and Disaster Reduction (ICGdR), the American Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering (ARMA), and invited international experts from Asia, Europe, and the Americas to make special reports. There were 29 parallel sessions in this event. Academicians He Manchao, Feng Xiating, Wang Mingyang and Kang Hongpu of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and other national experts made theme reports in different parallel sessions.
Prof. Zhao Laijun made a theme report at the session themed by “Urban Transport and Underground Logistics”: research on the location selection and pathway optimization of urban express delivery combining ground and subway network. He analyzed the shortcomings and limitations of the traditional ground logistics transportation, and highlighted the necessity of making full use of the idle transportation capacity of the subway network to operate express delivery in the same city. Then it proposes to combine the urban subway network with the ground terminal distribution network to build a ground-underground distribution network to promote the development of urban transportation and underground logistics. Specifically, the candidate hub and spoke points are determined by building an evaluation model for transit capacity of metro network nodes, and the number and location of hub points and spoke points of metro network are determined by building a maximum coverage location model. Then the ground terminal distribution path of the hub-and-spoke network is designed and optimized to quickly integrate distribution resources and reduce distribution and transportation costs. At last, based on the real data of Shanghai Metro and express logistics, he preliminarily designed the express distribution network with the combination of ground and underground in Shanghai, and conducted in-depth research on network layout optimization and path optimization, providing new ideas and models for urban transportation and underground logistics.
Many teachers, post doctors and postgraduates our school participated in this grand event.
