On the afternoon of March 3, Mr. Zhou Xiaoxiang (Jack Zhou), Director of Academic Affair of Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) China, and Mr. Guan Genghua (Fred Guan), Director of Cooperation and Development of IMA Eastern China paid an official visit to our school to discuss about cooperation between two parties. The meeting, which was hosted by Dr. He Jianjia, was held in Meeting Room 506, Block A of Economy and Management Building. Dean of the BS-USST Zhao Laijun, Vice Dean He Jianjian, Director (Education) of the Department of Accounting, Chen Zhiyong and Director (Education) of the Department of Business Administration were present in the meeting.
Vice Dean He Jianjia gave a warm welcome to the delegation first. He hoped that through today’s negotiation, the IMA and BS-USST would establish cooperation so that two sides can work together to expand students view and strengthen the application of knowledge. This will cultivate more applied management talents for the society.
Afterwards, Director Zhou Xiaoxiang explained in detail the issues related to the sponsorship to business School through CMA project. Director Guan Genghua briefed the CMA Management Accounting Case Competition. Director Ma Xiaoting advised that, the cooperation between IMA and BS-USST could be integrated with the Sino-US project run by the Department of Business Administration BS-USST. Such integration can explore the depth of cultivation and to enhance the internationalization. She hoped that two parties can cooperate on a larger scale on top of the cooperation in the present program. Dean Zhao Laijun introduced the overall construction and development of the school on school scale, discipline construction and talent cultivation. He further highlighted the contributions of Departments of Accounting and Business Administration in student cultivation, faculty and competitive advantage of the disciplines.
In the end, two sides discussed and exchanged ideas on project cooperation, student training, CMA scholarship, and Management and Accounting Case Competition. A consensus was reached on further in-depth communication and deepening cooperation between two parties. After the meeting, Director Ma Xiaoting, Section Chief Xu Jingwei, Dean Zhao Laijun, Vice Dean He Jianjia and Dr. Zhou Yang discussed the revision the Project Management Committee of Business Administration China-US Cooperation as well as other work.
