On December 11, 2020, the 3rd Annual Conference of Research Association on the Internationalization of Business Schools(RAIBS) was held in Shanghai. Affected by the COVID-19, the conference was held in a combination of online and offline, with leading guests from 18 colleges and universities across the country attending the conference and more than 1300 people watching online. The conference was organized by RAIBS, with the assistance of the Steering Committee of Business Administration of the Ministry of Education, and hosted by Shanghai Ocean University, co-organized by Business College of Beijing Union University and Business School of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Professor ZHANG Zheng Associate Dean of the Business School, and HAN Bing, the teacher from the International Construction Office of the Business School, attended the 3rd Annual Conference of RAIBS.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhengyong Yang, Dean of College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Ocean University. Professor WAN Rong, Vice President of Shanghai Ocean University, delivered an opening speech, warmly welcoming the visit of the participating units, pointing out that the current AACSB international accreditation has become a new standard for the internationalization of many business schools of high-level applied universities in China, and the introduction and practice of the management wisdom of the world's top business schools alliance has become a new path for the training system of Chinese business talents with Chinese characteristics in the digital economy era. Professor Jianbin Chen, Associate Dean of Business College of Beijing Union University, addressed the General Assembly on behalf of the Chairman's Unit of the Alliance. First of all, thanks to the contractor, guidance units, as well as the leaders and guests. It was also mentioned that the conference was intended to promote the development of local business schools, and to expand the international paradigm exploration and practice of business schools to jointly plan a new chapter in the development of business.
Professor Jianbin Chen, Associate Dean of Business College of Beijing Union University, and Professor Zheng Zhang, Associate Dean of the Business School of USST, presided over the morning session and the afternoon session respectively. The report focused on the theme of Exploration and Practice of Internationalization for Chinese Business Schools in the Digital Economy Era, with Geoff Perry, Chief Officer of the AACSB Asia Pacific, and Liyan Chen, Manager of Accreditation Services Asia Pacific, sharing the history of AACSB, the distribution situation of the continents of AACSB-accredited business schools and the benefits of AACSB accreditation on the internal and external benefits of university business schools, introducing the new standards for 2020, emphasizing that the new standards focus on the input and results of teaching quality assurance, continuous improvement and social impact. Professor Jiancheng Chen, the member of the Steering Committee of Agriculture and Forestry Economic Management of Ministry of Education, elaborated on the connotation of the new business department on the new era, new goals and new talents, as well as new hands, under the title of International Thinking on the Construction of the New Business Department. Professor CHEN Song, Deputy Secretary of SEM of Tongji University, Professor Jiye Mao, Dean of RMBS, Professor Jianbin Chen, Associate Dean of the Business College of Beijing Union University, Professor Xiaoguang Wang, Dean of the School of Management of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, Professor LIU Bin, Dean of SEM of Shanghai Maritime University, and Yanjun Zhu, Researcher of the Higher Education Department of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, shared the practical experience and thoughts of AACSB International Business School certification in their respective business schools. Representatives of the enterprises, MA Yan, vice president of the Mycos Research Institute, and Guiqiu Zhu, general manager of Shanghai Blackboard Information Technology Co.Ltd. introduced corporate information technology to help business schools accelerate international professional certification.
Professor ZHANG Zheng, Associate Dean of the Business School of USST, presided over the afternoon report meeting and shared the process and experience of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology in launching and completing AACSB Accreditation. Meanwhile, he also pointed out that USST, as the first local university to be accredited by ACCSB, jointly launched an alliance initiative with Beijing Union University in 2018, which has received successive responses from many universities. Through the annual conference, colleges and universities actively discussed new methods, deepened alliance exchanges and practical experience sharing, and were able to explore a better development path and achieve the best of each other.
The closing ceremony was delivered by Yufeng Li, the Associate Dean of College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Ocean University. He hoped that through this meeting, consensus could be further gathered, common development would be promoted, and the international construction of high-level featured business schools in our country’s digital economy era would be accelerated, and a large number of application-oriented and compound-oriented outstanding economic management talents would be cultivated to contribute to the promotion of social progress. After deliberation and approval by the conference of the chairman of the alliance, the Management School of Henan University of Science and Technology, the School of Business Administration of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, the School of Economics and Management of Shanghai University of Electric Power, the School of Business of Wuyi University, School of Economics and Management of Shanghai University of Sport become new council members.
