Business School students have achieved great results in the 2019 International Economic, Trade and Business Competition for Global University Students

From December 13th to 14th, 2019, the International Trade and Business Competition 2019 was successfully held in Singapore. The competition is co-sponsored by the Commercial Industry Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the International Chamber of Commerce Academy (ICC Academy). There are 8 colleges and universities from mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore, 13 teams and 54 teachers and students battle the Lion City. After fierce competition, the two participating teams of the Business School won the gold award and the silver award.

Our school’s participating team was led by Secretary Wang Wei of the Business School. Professor Luo Fang, Dean of the Department of International Trade, Han Bing and Teacher Tang Qiao from the Department of International Trade served as the instructors of the competition. The 9 students from the two teams were from different grades and majors of the Business School, including International Trade, International Trade (International Class), Finance, Business Administration (Entrepreneurship), Management Science and Engineering, etc. In the 2019 Global College Student International Economics, Trade and Business Competition China Regional Trial, two teams stood out from 120 participating preliminaries, won the special prize and the first prize, and entered the Global College Student International Economics, Trade and Business Competition held in Singapore finals. The finals adopt a combination of thesis presentation and on-site defense. In the process of preparing for the competition, teachers and students used their spare time to earnestly and actively make a lot of preparations for the competition, from the topic selection, writing, on-site statement and defense of the thesis. In the competition, the students’ international thinking, fluent and professional English expression, understanding of international trade and business, and confident and proper business etiquette were highly recognized and praised by the judges.

This participation is in response to the school’s “13th Five-Year Plan” guidelines, and after the AACSB international certification of the Business School, promote the internationalization of the Business School, build an international model college, cultivate a global vision, cross-cultural communication skills, and a solid economy Requirements for applied talents in international economics and trade majors with theoretical foundation and high research capabilities. Through competitions, students will expand their horizons, improve their comprehensive application level of international economics, trade and business professional knowledge and academic application ability, and enhance their competitiveness in employment at home and abroad.
